She watches them grow feathers that they flutter against the morning sun
Beating the warming rays through song carrying veins
Can they carry her songs to heaven?
Leave them beside the body she left behind
All those years ago when her voice was but a whimper
That silence engulfed
Where there are no songs
Just a restless discontent
